Angelina Naglazas is a contemporary artist who loves to paint. Naglazas’ work is known for its freshness and spontaneity, symbolic of what she sees as beauty and with new fun interpretations. Her work is inspired by nature and the universe, working with intuition, and using meditative practise to ignite creative ideas and new thought. Using mainly acrylics and working on several canvases simultaneously allows a certain freedom which prevents her from becoming stuck and extends to her creative energy to encompass the relationship between paintings as well as the dynamics of individual pieces.
She had participated in the landmark exhibition “Art in the time of Covid” at the City of Fremantle, Moores Building Contemporary Art Gallery. This exhibition evolved from a group of artists exploring ways to respond creatively to the pandemic resulting in the book “Art and the Pandemic: Creative responses to unprecedented times” in which her paintings and poems were featured.
Previous Artist in Residence at Studio 11 Fremantle Western Australia and exhibiting at The David Giles High Street Art Gallery, is also a member of the “Freedom School” and a winner of various Freedom School Art Awards. Receiving a High Commendation for her piece, “Soft Love” at Beverley Art Awards 2022, and with more recently a finalist at Ellenbrook Art Awards 2022 and Shire of Kalamunda – Zig Zag Gallery Art Awards 2023. Among many other art awards finalist acceptances in 2022 and 2023, Angelina continues to have success with her style of artwork. Her art expresses interest and love for the mystical, nature and organic form. Angelina works in series that are very diverse and allows herself to show a flexibility in painting styles, from the Spirit series, Flower series and current Ocean series.
Currently living in East Fremantle Western Australia where she works from her home studio.
Angelina considers herself a self-taught artist who loves the act of self-expression using colour and form. With a successful career as a hair stylist and a business owner, time is now shared with her love of the Numerology, Tarot, Art, Travel and Family.
